Doreen Mosko, RN, Director
Doreen has worked at the Clelian Center since 1989. A registered nurse, prior to coming to the Clelian Center she spent time as a home-care nurse and a volunteer nurse for Hospice.
Doreen graduated from the University of Bridgeport twice; once with an associate's degree and RN, and later with a Bachelor of Science. She is on the executive board of the Connecticut Association of Adult Day Centers (CAADC). Her extensive experience in gerontological nursing is invaluable in the day-to-day operations of the Center.
Doreen's husband, Les, also works at the Center and is responsible for preparing lunch each day. Doreen and Les have two children and four grandchildren—the "joy of my life" as Doreen says!
Susan Grant, RN, Assistant Director
Susan joined the Clelian Center staff in December 2008. She is graduate of Sacred Heart Academy where she was first exposed to the mission of the Apostles of the Sacred Heart of Jesus. Susan brings to the Center a combined experience of almost 9 years in business administration from Yale University as well as from the Department of Radiation Oncology at the Hospital of Saint Raphael. While working at the hospital, Susan had the opportunity to pursue a second career and went back to school for her RN and received an Associate's Degree in Nursing from Naugatuck Valley Community Technical School in 1998. She has since worked in that capacity as an RN with a focus on Geriatrics at the Hospital of Saint Raphael before coming to the Center. Susan and her family live in North Haven.
Jeanne M. Hartley, CTRS, Director of Therapeutic Recreation
Jeanne has worked at the Clelian Center since 2003. A graduate of Southern Connecticut State University with a Bacheor of Science degree in the field of Therapeutic Recreation, Jeanne has been practicing therapeutic recreation for 12 years in the gerontological setting and is a recognized "certified therapeutic recreation specialist." The goal of the Therapeutic Recreation department at the Clelian Center is to activate, stimulate, and motivate every individual so that they can function at their optimum level. Through a variety of programs designed for cognitive, physical, social, emotional, and spirtual well-being, Jeanne finds that clients begin to "love life" again and enjoy the quality of life they deserve—a transformation she finds most gratifying. Jeanne is co-chair of the Therapeutic Recreation Directors of the Connecticut Adult Day Centers' bi-annual meeings. Jeanne and her husband live in Hamden.
